One of my favorite ice cream flavor is coffee but unfortunately it is not easy to find around here . Actually i might send an email to ” BEN AND JERRY’S” to ask them to come up with a coffee flavored ice cream. But for now i am going to share with you my own combination which is Kahlua and amaretti ice cream. For those who doesn’t know this products, Kahlua is a coffee flavored liquor and amaretti are little almond biscuit made in Italy. When you eat the ice cream , the taste is a similar to a tiramisu . Of course the combination can be changed as you can replace the kahlua with amaretto for an extra almond flavor or remove the biscuit of the recipe , follow your taste buds.
*500 ml of double cream
*80 grs of sugar
*3 egg yolks
*3 tbsp of kalhua
*150 grs of amaretti ice cream.
1.Heat the cream in a saucepan .
2.Meanwhile whisk the egg yolks with the sugar until pale then add to the cream with the Kahlua .
3.With a wooden spoon constantly stir until the mix become thicker, it might take 5 -6 minutes.
4.Once cooked , chill until cold and place in your ice cream maker .
5.By hand slightly crush the biscuit , add to the ice cream mix and turn on for 15-20 minutes or until the ice cream is set.
6.Serve with a drizzle of Kahlua.
