Prosciutto brussel sprout

Ahh Christmas is on its way and every shop shelves are getting filled with sprouts . Half of the population will be thrilled with this winter’s favorites when everybody else will go : NOT AGAIN , YEUK or DEGUEULASSE like we say in france….

And i understand why some people hate brussel sprouts . Many mothers have the habbit to overcook the sprout until it changes colour to a dark green nearly brown and then just serve it with a bit of butter.

The secret is to keep the sprouts a little bit crunchy and add some lovely flavors.

Prosciutto brussel sproutIngredients:

Serves 4:

*500 grs of Brussels sprout

*100 grs of prosciutto ham

*2 garlic cloves

*2 tbsp of crushed hazelnuts

*5 sage leaves.

* olive oil

 

1.In a pot of boiling water , cook the sprouts for 5-6 minutes and drain.

2.When the sprouts are chilled enough to hold , cut in half lengthwise and remove the hard end bit.

3. By hand tear the prosciutto in pieces and add to a hot pan with olive oil , add the crushed garlic and the sprouts, cook until the Brussels sprouts are golden brown colour.

4.Finely chop the sage and add to the pan with the crush hazelnuts, season and serve.
