Shredded honey and soy duck

A lot of take away restaurant serves Chinese food but not one is close to the real deal . Since my last trip to HONG KONG i cannot eat in this places and i just try to recreate Chinese dishes at home . For this dish i tried to combine some of my favorites ingredients and it turned out really well.

Honey and soy shredded duckIngredients:

Serves 4:

*4 duck legs

*1tsp of chilli flakes

*3 garlic cloves

*4 tbsp of sesame oil

*8 tbsp of light soy sauce

*4 tbsp of honey

*3 nests of fine egg noodles

*300 grs ( 1 bag) of bean sprout.


1.Place the duck on a roasting tray in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for an hour.

2.In the meantime cook the noodles in boiling water until the noodles are tender ( around 4 minutes) and chill in cold water.

3.In a bowl combine the honey , chilli,sesame oil, soy sauce and  the 3 crushed garlic.

4.Once the duck is cooked remove the bone and shred the meat with a knife . You can keep or remove the skin depending of your taste.  Place the meat in a bowl , add 2/3 of the marinade  and put back in the roasting tray  and place in the oven for another 5 minutes.

5.In a wok or pan cook the beansprout  in a little bit of sesame oil  .After 2 minutes add the noodles and the remaining of the marinade  and cook for another 2 minutes.

6.Serve the duck on a bed of noodles and decorate with spring onions.
