This little macarons are a perfect treat to accompany a cup of coffee. I only baked a small batch as it was my first attempt and it turned out perfect . I only ate macarons once in Paris and the taste is pretty similar to my recipe only that i combined coconut to the recipe for added flavor. This is the first macaron post and there is many more to come as i have many tasty combination to try.
Makes 6 macarons:
For the macarons:
*1 egg white
*60 grs of icing sugar
*1 tbsp of cocoa powder
*50 grs of ground almonds
For the ganache:
*50 grs of white chocolate
*30 grs of single cream
*5 grs of butter
*20 grs of dessicated coconut
1.Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius. Sift the icing sugar with the cocoa powder and the ground almonds.
2.Beat the egg white with an electric whisk until stiff . Gently fold the sugar mixture into the egg.
3.Using a piping bag , pipe 12 macarons on a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper. Let the macarons 30 minute at room temperature to dry out.
4.For the ganache , heat the cream in a saucepan , then once hot add the butter and white chocolate, whisk until smooth and finally add the coconut. Chill the ganache.
5.Turn down the heat of the oven to 150 degrees Celsius and bake the macarons 10 minutes. Once cooked transfer to wire rack to chill.
6.Spread some ganache on 6 of the macarons and top with the other half. Enjoy without guilt.
