This buns are a must try for burger lovers as this lovely bread is so easy to make and very tasty . It doesn’t require much work and it really beats the store bought ones . I usually make them by 6 and eat the spare ones with a bowl of soup or as a sandwich.
Makes 6 buns:
*100 ml of milk
*225 grs of white bread flour
*1 tsp of salt
*50 grs of butter
*1 tsp of sugar
*1 tsp of fat action yeast
1.Combine the yeast with the milk . In a large bowl combine the dried ingredients with the egg and the milk/yeast mixture , stir until it forms a sticky dough.
2.Knead the dough by hand or using a stand mixer with a dough hook for 10 minutes until smooth.
3.Place in a bowl drizzled with a bit of olive oil and cover with cling film. Place in a warm place ( i put mine close to the radiator) until it has doubled in size , it should take an hour.
4. Once the dough has risen , punch down on a floured surface and divide into 6 equal parts . Shape each portion into a ball shape and place on a baking tray. Cover this time with a towel so that the dough has space to rise and is not squashed. Let rise for an hour again.
5.Preheat the oven at 220 degrees Celsius . If you want , you can sprinkle the buns with some seeds before baking ( sesame, pumpkin, oat…) and bake for 20 minutes.
