Chorizo fougasse

This  bread remind of the time i lived in Provence  for a few years and each time i visit my mother on holidays i always get one at a local bakery.  I previously posted a recipe for a blue cheese fougasse and this one was inspired by a TV chef called ” Lorraine Pascal”. I always ate olive or cheese fougasse but her chorizo version inspired me and i had to try  it .

chorizo fougasseIngredients :

*250 grs of bread flour

*4 grs of dry yeast

*150 ml of water

*75 grs of cooked diced chorizo

*1 tbsp of herbes de Provence

*1 tsp of salt


1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius .

2.In a large bowl mix together all the dry ingredients. Make a well in the center and pour the water  .

3.Knead the dough for about 10 minutes on a floured surface.

4.Add the chorizo  and knead until it is combined to the rest of the dough.

5.Using  a rolling pin , flatten the bread to a desired shape . With a sharp knife , cut some slashes in the dough.

6.Place the bread on a baking tray  and let it rise covered with cling film in a warm place for an hour.

7.Once risen bake for 30 minutes .
