In my last holidays back home , i bring back a lot of food magazine and found a recipe for coconut flan that intrigued me . In this recipe the chef used sweet condensed milk and since i really love coconut i decided to give it a go . I personally found the recipe too sweet but i still wanted to share with you guys but i will redo this recipe using the traditional creme caramel base .
Makes 4 flan:
*250 grs of sweet condensed milk
*250 ml of milk
*50 grs of dessicated coconut
*100 grs of sugar
1. In a saucepan cook the sugar with a tablespoon of water to obtain a golden caramel , pour equally into 4 ramequins.
2.Preheat the oven at 160 degrees Celsius.
3.In a bowl mix together the remaining ingredients and pour into the ramequins.
4.Place the flans in a deep baking dish , add water until 3/4 of the ramequins are submerged in water .
5.Cook 45 minutes at 160 degrees Celsius.
6. Once cooked let the flans cool down before serving.
